Packed Up And Prone To Go

Got a booking
With the airline
Packed up and prone to go
Gonna leave here by plane darlin'
Cause railway's much too slow.

It really would be, since the show starts in 13 hours.  Anyway, I'[m at the airport in Seattle, using the free wi-fi (truly a cultural advantage of the Port of Seattle) trying not to listen to the guy across the carpet as he jabbers.  We slept three hours last night.  This may be one of the rare times I fall asleep on the plane.  I even have a window seat with a wall to lean against.

This trip was a gift from my wife.  She isn't with me now, but will join me later for a second show on Saturday.

As a lawyer I learned to hate airports and travel.  I don't travel so often now, but I still don't like the process.  I'll be happy when I'm in my rental car on the other end heading to Blueberry Hill.

It should be a pretty cool trip.  Tonight, Doug, Karen and Judy at Blueberry Hill.  (We'll all get together for lunch when my wife gets here-- at a place Judy and Karen turned us on to that is owned and run by one of the Ikettes!)  Tomorrow, after that delicious free breakfast at the Best Western, Doug and I will be off to Memphis.  (He's making us stop at some place where they throw rolls at you.)  We nintend to follow in the footsteps of Mr. Kaleta and at least do drivebys of Stax, Royal and Sun Studios.  We'll eat more delicious and unhealthy food.  (Hopefully they don't throw it.)  I might jog past Graceland, but I still have some hard feelings there and don't need to stop.  (We're staying down the street.)  Then back to St. Louis to pick up Rebecca, look around a bit, and get ready for the next show (her first) at The Argosy.

Oh good!  It'll be a "very full flight."  In fact, we have "an overbooked situation" and they're offering $400 if I want to take the next flight.

I'll pass.  Much too slow.

The Royal Studio was closed when I was there.
I hope it will be opened for you.
The Lorraine Motel and the Gibson museum is also worth a visit.
