I would have died and gone to heaven if I'd seen this one when it happened. I first discovered Chuck Berry a year or so prior, and got from Chuck to T-Bone Walker within months. Somewhere in that time an old man on the street told me about seeing T-Bone Walker on a riverboat. (I was subject to regular bouts of magic in thoise days.) I later got the album "Live at Montreux" (where T-Bone mainly played a Fender Rhodes piano.) Anyway-- everything about this is cool.
I love seeing Chuck Berry as a sideman! I love seeing him dance without his guitar. I love seeing him try to play those T-Bone Walker licks. I love seeing T-Bone Walker play that slinky stringed guitar. (I hear somewhere that he liked fat ones; this must have felt like walking onto a sheet of ice!) I love the look on Chuck Berry's face. Good to know he knows what it's like to have a musical hero!
